Description
The ‘Red Column’ is an outstanding shrub which makes a fantastic evergreen hedge or screen. The leaves are ovate and dark green in colour and they are accompanied by small white flowers in spring. Come autumn, the flowers transform into glossy red berries which appear in clusters all over the shrub. This hardy firethorn can tolerate a range of harsh conditions, including shaded and costal positions. The dense, thorny habit of the ‘Red Column’ makes it an ideal hedge for keeping intruders out.
