The market leading variety for the commercial UK Celery plant industry is now available direct to our customers as garden ready plants. This quick growing Celery hybrid has good standing ability, is slow to bolt from early plantings and performs well under difficult spring conditions. Celery Victoria is one of the best-flavoured varieties available. The taste is crisp, clean and succulent. The lightly ribbed stalks maintain an appealing vitamin-rich apple-green colour, changing to white at the base. Grows where traditionally difficult. Plant our 6cm peat pots out after all risk of frost in late spring. Plant 23cm (9″) apart each way in blocks not rows in rich well drained soil to which plenty of well-rotted compost has been added. Water copiously in dry spells. Pick the sticks from late July onwards and harvest them all before the frosts. Full variety specific growing instructions are sent out with every order.
