February – May
Sowing Indoors
Almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost. Sow seeds thinly over the surface, and lightly cover them with a little more compost. Place in the warmth 10-15 degrees Celsuis (50-60 Fahrenheit), and keep moist.
Growing On
Keep seedlings in a light position, but shade from direct sunlight. When large enough to handle, transplant to 5cm (2in) apart into trays of potting compost. Alternatively, transplant individually to small pots.
Hardening Off/Planting Out
Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions for 2-3 weeks before planting out from early summer onwards. Allow 30cm (12in) between plants.
