Tell Me More…
These gorgeous climbers often delight the nose before they are enjoyed by the eyes. Vigorously climbing and twining, trumpet-shaped blooms are produced from June to September, and will bear ornamental black berries much loved by the birds in late autumn to early winter. Nectar-rich honeysuckle flowers not only provide a feast for bees and butterflies, but moths, ladybirds and tits will also be very grateful. This collection comprises; japonica ‘Halliana’ – unusual, eye-catching blooms open as white and, as they mature, become a buff yellow colour, meaning you can enjoy both colours simultaneously on the same plant, height 10m, spread 2m, evergreen and hardy to around -15°C; and japonica ‘Red World’ – clusters of tubular, bright red, double-tongued blooms, creamy white inside, almost cover the foliage all summer and will fill your garden with scent, height 6m, spread 1.5m, semi-evergreen and hardy to around -10°C.
