Native to North America, where this Iris grows in the wild, it is also known by the common name, Windermere Iris.An outstanding performer, Iris x robusta ‘Dark Aura’ has been given the Award of Garden Merit by the Royal Horticultural Society.Iris x robusta ‘Dark Aura’ prefers to be grown in moist soil in a sunny or partly shaded area. Reaching a height of around 90cm, spreading to around 40cm it is a fully hardy perennial with an RHS hardiness rating of H7, so will not require any winter protection across the UK.
