Tell Me More…
A hybrid of Aster and Solidago, Solidaster x luteus ‘Lemore’ offers arching fountains of soft lemon blooms from June to September. Perfect for cutting, the stems last up to two weeks in a vase and can also be dried for adding to seasonal arrangements.Commonly known as Goldenrod, Solidaster is a fully hardy, herbaceous perennial which is quick to naturalise, each plant spreading up to 45cm. Deadhead promptly to prevent self-seeding and divide larger clumps in spring. Most at home in a cottage garden or large natural border, plant will also happily thrive in containers. This variety reaches a height of 75cm tall so is not as towering as some of the larger cultivars. Popular with pollinators, Goldenrod thrives in full sun with well-drained soil and does particularly well in sandy conditions. Furthermore, Solidaster x luteus ‘Lemore’ holds the prestigious Award of Garden Merit for its outstanding and reliable performance in the garden.
