Description
Prunus dulcis is a small to medium sized tree with an upright habit at first, with ascending main branches, becoming broader with age. Attractive pink flowers are borne in March and April, carried singly or in pairs. The velvety skinned, green fruits (which look a bit like small green peaches) enclose the edible almond nut. The leaves are long and pointed with finely toothed margins.
