Product Description

Fragrant Autumn flowering crocus Sativus. Has been grown for the expensive spice in Britain since the Tudor times. When in flower look for the red ‘ribbons’ – these are the coveted spice saffron! – and remove with tweezers. They can be dried and stored in an airtight container for up to two years. You need a lot of Sativus to harvest a significant crop of Saffron. It is fun to have a little home grown Saffron and the flower is delightful. Like all Crocus, they naturalise and multiply. Grow these stunning and fragrant flowers in patio pots or at the fronts of garden borders. 5-6cm corms supplied.

Plant in groups for an en-masse growth, similar to what you’d find on a woodland walk. Leave undisturbed after flowering and they will bloom year after year. Flowers late Winter to Early Spring.
