Product Description
Allium Gladiator 18cm+ produces clusters of rose-purple flowers form large balls on 1.2-1.5m stems. The result of a cross between Aflatunense and Macelanii, Gladiator holds the Award of Garden Merit and is a fantastically reliable allium. A great tall addition to beds and borders, the beautiful curled green leaves will wither before the flowers appear in early summer so we recommend accompanying them with low-growing plants to provide filling foliage over the base areas. These make excellent cut flowers and can even be dried and used indoors for a unique Christmas display. Flowers May-June. 18cm+bulbs supplied.

Growing at a glance…
Plant in fertile, well-drained soil at approx 10cm apart and at a depth of roughly 3-4 times the size of the bulb. Larger bulbs should be spaced 20cm apart. Leave untouched for a number of years until the bulbs have multiplied and divide if necessary. Smaller alliums can be grown in containers, but ensure it’s large enough to space the bulbs an appropriate distance apart.
