Astilbe ‘Younique Ruby Red’ is a petite yet eye-catching perennial that blooms in thick plumes of rich ruby red from early to mid-summer. Its nicely cut, dark green foliage provides complexity and is appealing long after flowering. This species produces more flowers than typical Astilbes, resulting in a magnificent show in dark places where other plants may struggle. It also attracts pollinators and works well in mixed borders or containers.
Supplied in approx. 2-3 litre containers.
Where to plant: Prefers wet, well-drained soil in moderate shade, so it’s great for forest gardens, borders, and damp locations around ponds.
How to care: Keep the soil regularly wet, especially during dry seasons. Deadhead spent flowers to foster new blooming. Cut back in late autumn to promote new spring growth. Mulch once a year to help preserve moisture.
