Description
This is a large garden tree which has fantastic ornamental value from both its foliage and bark. The leaves are lobed and have a glossy green coating on the front and a hairy silvery white effect underneath. The attractive bark almost looks like snake bark, but with a silvery base colour and diamond shaped indents that expose the darker inner bark. This tree is particularly useful for a windy site as it will quickly establish a strong root system and grow well: the leaves also look best in the wind as you can see the pretty undersides fluttering and contrasting with the green tops. Please note that this tree will grow to be fairly large and it should be planted in a position that gives it enough room to thrive.
Common Name: Silver Leaf Poplar
