Growing Information
T&M’s easy starter plants are delivered ready for planting at the correct time so that you can enjoy bigger, earlier and tastier vegetables. Gradually acclimatise plants to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days prior to transplanting them outdoors.
Grow sweetcorn plants in a sheltered position in full sun, on fertile, reliably moist, well drained soil that has been deeply dug. Prepare the soil in early spring by adding plenty of well rotted farmyard manure to the soil to improve its structure and fertility. Sweetcorn is wind pollinated and should grown in large blocks to assist pollination. Plant sweetcorn at a distance of 35cm (14″) apart, leaving 60cm (24″) between each row, to form a large block. Water the plants thoroughly after planting.
