Specially bred by Suttons, Parsnip White Gem is highly recommended for use on all soils. Shorter roots than Tender and True, with fine, white smooth skin. An essential part of your Sunday roast! Considerable resistance to canker.
Growing Information
Sow late February-May outdoors in well-cultivated ground manured for a previous crop. Lift for use as required. (32-36 weeks maturity.)
Sowing Information
Sow thinly into finely raked, warm, moist soil at a depth of 13mm ( 1?2″) in rows 30cm (12″) apart. Germination 10-28 days. Thin seedlings to 15cm (6″) between plants. Grows best in well cultivated soil which has not recently been manured. Ideally lift roots when required as frosts sweeten the flavour. In severe weather cover tops with 7.5cm (3″) straw, or lift some roots and store in boxes of sand or soil.
