Purple and white bicolour are what makes this recent introduction from the ‘Lips’ series of Salvia an outstanding addition to cottage garden borders and containers. The fruity blackcurrant scented foliage of ‘Amethyst Lips’ adds to it’s character, enhancing the summer display in gardens. Hardy perennial but appreciates protection in winter when the weather gets colder, so pot up in containers for easy transporting into greenhouses etc. Height: 90cm (35″). Spread: 60cm (24″).
Growing Information
Pot up salvia plants into pots of free-draining compost, and grow them on in frost free conditions until large enough to plant outside. When all risk of frost has passed and plants are well grown, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days. Plant salvias outdoors in moist, well drained soil, and situated in a sheltered spot in full sun.
