A vigorous-growing mixture which if sown early will flower in the current year. Sturdy flower spikes of blue mauve, lilac pink and white. A traditional ‘cottage garden’ favourite. Very attractive to bees. HP – Hardy perennial. Height 75-90cm (2½-3′). (Seeds/plants harmful if eaten.)
Sowing Information
For first year flowering – sow mid-January-March in trays at approx. 13°C (55°F) in a moist seed compost, covering with 1.5mm of compost. Keep in the dark, germination in 14-28 days. Transfer resulting seedlings 8cm (3″) apart into further trays and acclimatise to outside conditions before planting out. For second year flowering – sow May-July, directly into a well-prepared seedbed at a depth of 6mm (¼”), thinning in stages to a final spacing of 45-60cm.
