Delicate-looking white flowers are produced in profusion above lance-shaped leaves. Extremely attractive to bees, butterflies and other beneficial insects, they’re perfect for a border or container near the house, where you can fully appreciate the honey-like fragrance. Flowers July-September. Height 30-35cm (12-14″). HA – Hardy annual. Commonly known as ‘Midnight Candy’ because of the sweet scent it gives off in the evening.
Growing Information
Sow the seed thinly, direct into finely raked, moist, warm, weed free soil where the plants are to flower 6mm (¼”) deep. Germination will normally take 7-14 days. As the plants develop thin the resulting seedlings in stages to a final spacing of 30-38cm (12-15″) apart removing any competing weeds. Make successional sowings throughout the summer to prolong the flowering period.
