The classic crimson poppy. This heirloom variety bears brilliant red, large, 3-inch flowers, with silky, shining petals, borne on slender, swaying stems. Sow Poppy ‘Legion of Honour’ in broad drifts for a spectacular display in late spring and early summer. It’s perfect for mini-meadows and wildlife gardens, the blooms attracting a host of pollinating insects. Or scatter it randomly through borders to create bold pops of colour early in the season. After flowering, the ornamental seedheads provide further interest and make a lovely addition to dried flower arrangements.
A symbol of Remembrance Day, these poppies will return year after year. Simply leave the seed heads to self-sow into disturbed ground and enjoy watching them rebloom the following season. Height: 60cm (24in). Spread: 30cm (12in).
