‘Orange Beauty’ is a summery looking Fritillaria, that blooms from March until June. It generates an abundance of tropical looking flowers, coloured in tango orange, topped with a spiky green crown – amongst clumps of fresh green foliage. Ideal for growing in containers, exotic, cut flower and cottage themed landscapes, this hardy bulb will remain easy to care for all year round and sit well in full sunlight.
Growing Information
Fritillaria thrives in reliably moist, well-drained soil that is rich in organic matter. Add plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost to the soil prior to planting to improve less than ideal soils. Heavy clay soils are not suitable, and in these conditions grow the bulbs in raised beds or containers. Plant Imperial Fritillary bulbs at a depth and spacing of 20-30cm in a warm, sunny position. Fritillary bulbs are fragile so always handle them with care. Apply a high potash tomato feed at fortnightly intervals after bulbs start to emerge.
