Bring some sunshine to your borders with this resilient cottage-garden favourite. Neat clumps of tall, elegant stems with striking yellow flowers are borne from mid-summer through until early autumn. Golden Lysimachia punctata is great for difficult clay soils and shadier parts of the garden, thriving in damp borders, bog gardens or at the margins of a pond. Grow dotted loosestrife in woodland gardens or informal areas for a burst of late summer colour! Height: 90cm (35″). Spread: 60cm (24″).
Growing Information
Pot up Lysimachia punctata plants and grow them on in frost-free conditions for transplanting outdoors later on. When loosestrife plants are well grown, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days, before planting them in sunny or partially shaded borders. Prior to planting, incorporate plenty of well-rotted manure or compost into the soil. Grow Lysimachia in a fertile, moist soil that does not dry out in summer. Dotted loosestrife will happily grow in clay soils, at the margins of a pond or in a bog garden.
