Description
Acer palmatum ‘Atropurpureum’ is the most popular of the Japanese maples and can be a large shrub or small tree. It has bronzy purple leaves which turn a strong red in autumn. Small purple-red clusters of flowers are succeeded by red-winged seeds in late summer. The Japanese maple is ideal for someone wanting a colourful addition in their garden.
