Sowing Time

Sowing Indoors
Almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost. Sow seeds thinly over the surface and lightly cover them with a little more compost. Place in the warmth 15-20 degrees Celsuis (60-70 Fahrenheit) and keep moist.
Growing On
Keep seedlings in a light position, but shade from direct sunlight. When large enough to handle, transplant 5cm (2in) apart into trays of potting compost, or individually into small pots.
Planting Out
Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions for one week before planting out when danger of frost has passed. Allow 20-30cm (8-10in) between plants. Choose a warm, sheltered spot.

Indoors: January – December
Outdoors: May – September
Pick leaves as required.
