Description
- A semi-double floral jewel like no other, this anemone will elevate your beds and borders to soaring new heights, thanks to its ruffled, lilac-tinged flowers (complete with vibrant, yolk-yellow stamens) which sway gracefully on delicately dancing stems
- One of the things that sets this anemone apart from other varieties is its long flowering season, with blooms opening up from purple buds from mid-summer all the way through to the middle of autumn
- A versatile plant, ‘Frilly Knickers’ can be grown in patio pots, in the front/middle of the border, or as part of a more informal wildlife meadow or traditional cottage garden scheme
- For most people, if you called them a clump, you’d be (not unjustly) met with a lump to the face, but in the case of ‘Frilly Knickers’, it’s very much a complement! Its clump-forming habit means it’s more easily contained and managed, and is therefore great for gardens with more limited space
- In 2020, ‘Frilly Knickers’ won the Virtual Visitors Vote at the Horticultural Trades Association’s Virtual New Plants Awards, receiving a whopping one-third of the total votes!
