Tell Me More…
Flowering long and hard from early summer right through until autumn, Calibrachoa ‘Can Can Double Wine Red’ produces masses of rich, velvety, deep magenta flowers with a subtle hint of dark orange. Flowers are small and bell-shaped, resembling a miniature version of their botanical relative the petunia. Ideal for hanging baskets, containers, and window boxes, this calibrachoa has a loose, neat appearance and will gently trail by around 50cm. Plants in this genus are ‘self-cleaning’, meaning they shed spent flowers; so, no need for deadheading! Calibrachoa ‘Can Can Double Wine Red’ prefers to be planted in well-drained soil of any type which is located in full sun or partial shade. Plants grow to a maximum height and spread of 30cm. As tender perennials, they are usually grown as annuals in the UK. Alternatively, container grown plants may be overwintered in a frost-free environment for continued perennial grown, a cool greenhouse or conservatory is ideal.
