Description
This is a really unique fern that offers interest all year round. In spring new fronds emerge covered in golden hairs, giving this a tassel-like effect. The fronds are wonderfully lustrous and hold a mid-dark green colour in all seasons, making this a highly ornamental fern. The pinnae overlap and are arranged in a shuttlecock-like structure so this a fantastic architectural plant, too.
Make sure that you plant this fern in a shady spot and put it alongside another structural fern, like the Matteuccia struthiopteris, if you want to achieve a variety of colours and shapes.
