Penstemon heterophyllus ‘Electric Blue’ produces intense, electric blue blooms with tints of purple contrasting the silver-green foliage beneath. A hardy perennial, this penstemon will return year after year withstanding tough weather. Long-lasting flowers emerge from June to October, luring in bees and other pollinators to its nectar. Penstemon heterophyllus ‘Electric Blue’ has a very resilient character, long flowering periods and great weather resistance. Great addition to borders and wildlife schemes. Height and spread: 60cm (24″).
Growing Information
Grow penstemon in a sunny or semi shaded position on fertile, well drained soil. Penstemons can tolerate dry soils once established but dislike heavy soils that are particularly cold and wet in winter. Improve heavy soils by adding plenty of coarse grit prior to planting.
