All 3 varieties hold the RHS Award for Garden Merit – this highlights their adaptability, reliability and beauty in the garden.Not only are the plants in the Elevating Evergreen Ferns Collection easy-going – their size, texture and colour combines for a lush and alluring foliage display. Dryopteris erythrosora (copper shield fern) is semi-evergreen and will thrive in any situation from full sun to full shade; Polystichum setiferum (soft shield fern) is fully evergreen and likes a shadier spot which is not in full sun; Blechnum spicant (deer or hard fern) is an evergreen which also likes a spot in partial or full shade. Elevating Evergreen Ferns Collection is a hardy, perennials trio which prefers moist, well-drained soil and will all benefit from an annual mulch in autumn to protect crowns. Collection comprises: Dryopteris erythrosora H: 75cm S: 60cm; Polystichum setiferum H: 1.2m S: 90cm; and Blechnum spicant H: 50cm S: 45cm.
