- Clusters of lavender coloured cup-shaped flowers with sunny yellow stamens on dark, almost purple leafy stems
- Flowers from April to June
- An easy-going, compact and hardy perennial with excellent pest and disease resistance
- A very versatile plant which works well in beds, borders and pots, or as garden edging
- Grows to 22-45cm high
- The leaves bear up to twenty leaflets which were thought to resemble the rungs of a ladder, hence the common name Jacobs Ladder
