Tell Me More…
Proud Pennisetum Collection brings you one award winning, new variety – Pennisetum villosum, along with two established favourites, ‘Moudry’ and ‘Rubrum’. The latter of these also holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit which recognises its outstanding performance in UK gardens. All 3 are stylish, sweeping ornamental grasses which bear fluffy flowerheads from June to October each year. With varied heights, ranging from 1.5m to 45cm, this trio is perfect for creating a kaleidoscopic cascading interest through the warmer months of the year. The grace and elegance of these grasses works well in herbaceous borders or as focal points in a gravel garden as well as for a container display. Plants in the Proud Pennisetum Collection prefer well-drained soil in full sun, preferably with a south or west facing aspect. All are half-hardy perennials which can be planted as annuals or offered protection from frost if you wish to retain them for the following year.Collection comprises:alopecuroides ‘Moudry’ H&S: 90cmvillosum H&S: 45cm setaceum ‘Rubrum’ H: 1.5m S: 1.2m
