Description
The ‘Silver Queen’ is a delightful evergreen with wavy, silvery green leaves that have creamy-white variegated edges. The leaves are held on dark purple stems and offer interest all year round. Aside from the attractive foliage, small, purple flowers appear in late spring and these are lightly scented, although they can appear sparsely. This Pittosporum forms a fairly upright shrub with a bushy habit and will eventually have a loosely conical shape.
Plant this in a sunny spot, but with some shelter from strong winds. If you want a planting partner then the Pittosporum tenuifolium ‘Irene Paterson’ is another evergreen shrub with contrasting variegated leaves, so the two work well together.
