Acer palmatum ‘Sango-kaku’ is one of the best Japanese Maple plants available, growing with incredible shape and structure, as its foliage continues to change colour and bring vibrancy all year-round. Grow as a large, slow growing and deciduous shrub, or a small tree – either way its stunning coral-red stems that bare the pink-yellow, soon to turn green in summer, then yellow in autumn foliage leaves, will ‘WOW’ in garden patios, deckings and shrub flower beds. Growing Information
Grow Acer palmatum trees in any moist, fertile, well drained soil in sun or dappled shade. It is quite important to give plants shelter from strong winds which can scorch the leaves. Alternatively grow the Japanese Maple in large containers, using a soil based compost such as John Innes No.3.
