For an unmatched spring spectacle, the striking indigo blooms of Hyacinth Dark Dimension stand in a class of their own. This rare variety, the darkest hyacinth available, appears almost black under certain lighting—a stunning achievement years in the making through careful breeding. In addition to its dramatic colour, Dark Dimension also boasts a mesmerizing fragrance that fills the air. To showcase its beauty, pair it with other hyacinths in shades of purple, pink, or white, or combine it with lighter daffodils, tulips, and pansies for a breathtaking display. Height: 20cm (8″) Spread: 15cm (6″)

Growing Information

Grow hyacinths in moist, fertile well drained soil in sun or semi shade. Plant hyacinth bulbs approximately 10cm (4″) deep and at a distance of 8cm (3″) apart.

To grow hyacinths for indoor displays, plant them in containers of bulb fibre or potting compost with the tip of the bulb just visible above the soil surface. Position them in a cool garage or other well ventilated, dark position at a maximum temperature of 7°C (44°F) for around 6 weeks. Water bulbs only when necessary in order to keep the compost moist. When the growing shoots reach a height of 3cm (1″), move the containers to a cool bright position indoors.
