Known by most as Ribbon Grass, Phalaris arundinacea ‘Picta’ is a visually striking ornamental grass with variegated foliage. Tall, thin green leaves with noticeable white stripes adorn this perennial grass, making a striking display in any garden. Ribbon grass works well as a ground cover, border, and accent plant to provide texture and contrast.
Plant in full sun to partially shaded, well-drained soil. Ribbon grass is ideal for planting next to ponds or streams because it can grow in a range of soil types, including damp or moist ones. To keep the soil moist during the growing season, especially during dry spells, water the soil frequently.
