Pyracantha coccinea ‘Red Star’ produces dark and only slightly thorny foliage, all year round. White blooms flower later in the season along with red fruits for a touch of colour. Ideal grown as a standalone shrub or tied to a framework where it can climb. Please note these fruits should not be eaten and can cause stomach upset. Height and spread 3m (10’).
Growing Information
Grow Pyracantha plants as free-standing shrubs train as a hedge, or grow against a wall or fence. Plant Firethorn into any well drained, reliably moist soil in sun or semi shade. Choose a position with shelter from cold, drying winds.
