A decorative addition to the garden in spring and summer, Sweet Orange trees will love a windowsill or conservatory in autumn and winter to provide colour and interest all year round. Clusters of strongly scented, waxy, white flowers will bloom from April to June, complimenting the glossy, fragrant evergreen leaves. The fruits will emerge in different stages of ripeness throughout the year, for regular picking. Orange trees will cope below 0 degrees for a short period but are best grown in large pots and brought inside to a bright, frost-free spot from autumn to spring. A self-fertile variety that won’t require a pollination partner.Supplied as a large specimen bush (often in fruit) in a 5 litre pot. Height: 2m (6′). Spread: 1.2m (2′).Estimated time to cropping once planted: 1 year.Estimated time to best yields: 3 years.

Growing Information

Plant citrus trees in patio containers in a mix of ericaceous compost and neutral, soil based compost such as John Innes No. 3. Repot the plant at its original soil level and firm well into the new container. Water well and position in a frost free position in full sun.
