The small red blossoms of Acer palmatum ‘Orange Dream’ blend well with the yellow and burnt-orange spring foliage. This slow-growing Japanese maple has an attractive spreading habit that makes it suitable for planting in large patio planters or as a stunning focal point in a shaded location. During the summer, the leaves turn vivid lime green, before turning orange and gold for a spectacular autumn display. Height and spread: 3m (10′).
Growing Information
Grow acer trees in any moist, fertile, well drained soil in sun or dappled shade, with shelter from strong winds which can scorch the finely cut leaves. Alternatively grow acers in large containers using a soil based compost such as John Innes No.3.
