Cistus Purpureus Plant – Alan Fradd

‘Alan Fradd’ is a large-flowered cultivar bearing tissue-thin white flowers. It is a great plant for gardens by the sea as it is heat and drought tolerant. Petals have a dark wine red stain at their base and the flower has a golden centre. Its flowering time is during spring and its foliage is evergreen.
This elegant plant is ideal for growing on the patio in pots and containers. It also grows well in sun or shade and is delightfully scented. Height 90-100cm.
Growing Information
Transplant Cistus plants into borders and containers outdoors in any well drained soil in full sun with shelter from cold winds. They will happily grow in poor soils. When growing Cistus in containers use a soil based compost such as John Innes No. 3.
