Beefsteak tomato Brandy Boy captures all the rich flavour of the beloved Brandywine heirloom tomato (long the flavour favourite among heritage tomato enthusiasts) with a more shapely form, tidier growth habit, improved disease-resistance and bigger, earlier yields. Our new hybrid produces loads of large pink fruits up to 14cm (5 frac12;”) across. The fruits ripen evenly and share Brandywine’s soft heirloom texture, thin skin and exceptional tangy-sweet taste. (Cordon variety – one stem grown by pinching off side-shoots as they appear, needs staking and tying in.)
Tom says: We trial hundreds of new varieties every year in order to make sure only the very best varieties make it into our catalogue. The difference in flavours is incredible – from savoury cooking tomatoes to pure sweetness for snacking and every conceivable flavour combination in between, we have something for every taste bud and growing situation.
