‘Kentish Cob’ is a self-fertile, attractive and bushy hazelnut tree that from September will produce large crops of cobnuts. Likely the most well-known variety in the UK, in early spring will produce masses of yellow-green coloured catkins. Once planted, nuts will begin to grow three or four years after, and as it’s self-fertile, you won’t need to plant a pollinator alongside it. Height and spread: 3m (9′). Please note, fruit trees will be despatched as early as possible this autumn, once they have gone dormant and are in the ideal condition for lifting from the nursery and for transplanting by our customers

Growing Information

When growing Cobnuts, choose a sheltered position on moist, slightly acid, well drained soil in sun or semi shade. Prior to planting Hazelnut trees, incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil. Plant Cobnut trees at the same soil level as they were growing at the nursery, and water well to settle the soil.
