Privet is a popular hedging plant in the UK because it is easy to grow, tolerant of pollution, and drought resistant. Hedges can last for many years, are fast-growing, simple to trim and maintain, and are resistant to pests and diseases. Ligustrum ovalifolium grows well in any size garden, in full sun or partial shade, and makes a neat and tidy evergreen hedge of any shape.
