The Japanese style peony ‘Doreen’ has outer layers of vibrant, rosy-pink petals in a variety of sophisticated shades. These surround a prominent pompon of lacey yellow stamens. This old peony variety has a classic appearance. The gently scented blooms withstand wind and rain and are held on durable stems, giving this mid-season, long-blooming peony a well-deserved RHS Award of Garden Merit. Height: 90cm (36). Growing Information
Bare roots should be planted at the earliest opportunity following delivery. Grow peonies in a sunny or semi shaded position on fertile, moist, well drained soil. Peony plants prefer a heavy soil that is rich in organic matter. Improve the soil prior to planting by adding plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost prior to planting. Plant herbaceous peonies so that the top of the crown is just 5cm (2”) below the soil surface, taking care not to plant too deeply as this may prevent or delay peonies from flowering.
