The first dwarf variety of its kind, this striking Mexican Sunflower produces vibrant orange blooms throughout summer until Autumn. The flowers of Tithonia rotundifolia ‘Fiesta del Sol’ measure roughly 7-9cm across and look similar to dahlias but are borne from distinctive, flared stems. Its compact size makes it ideal for the middle of borders or large patio pots and will attract plenty of butterflies. These stunning orange flowers make a beautiful cut flower- simply ensure the stems are seared after cutting.Height: 75cm (30in). Spread: 60cm (24in).

Sowing Information

Sow February to March in trays, pots, etc of good seed compost in a propagator or warm place to maintain an optimum temperature of 70-75F (20-25C). Sow in well drained compost, just covering the seed with compost, but do not exclude light, which is beneficial to germination. Germination usually takes 7-21 days.

Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle. Harden off and plant out when all risk of frost has passed 30cm (12in) apart in full sun.
