A beautiful Wisteria with a rich, powerful fragrance that will stop you in your tracks. Racemes of violet-purple flowers appear slightly before the foliage in late spring.
Growing Information
Grow wisteria plants in a sunny or semi shaded site in any moist, well drained soil. Wisteria flower buds can be damaged by hard spring frosts so choose a sheltered position. Prior to planting add plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to the soil. Provide the twining stems with an appropriate and sturdy support, such as strong trellis or wires attached to walls and pergolas.Standard wisterias will especially need a sturdy support when grown to protect the head from damage by strong winds .
