Quercus Robur Fastigiata

Cypress Oak, or Quercus Robur Fastigiata, is an upright, columnar form of oak with an appearance almost like a conifer. Foliage is the classic, deeply-lobed, English oak shape which take on stunning shades of copper-brown in the autumn and are held onto the tree in sheltered areas almost to the winter. It works well as a specimen tree or for avenue plantings and boasting much better diversity and wildlife appeal than conifers such as Thuja and Leylandii. The density of the foliage means it can be used as a screening tree. Moderate growth rate, gradually reaching an eventual height of 20 metres by spread of 3-5 metres when mature.
