This highly floriferous, ‘Birch Double’ geranium is covered in blueish purple double, frilled flowers during June to September each year. Underneath the flowers, handsome, rich green, neatly shaped foliage provides a perfect foil. As a bonus, leaves will transform to a reddish hue in the autumn. ‘Birch Double’ reaches a height of 30cm with a spread of 60cm – not only adding volumes of richly coloured flowers to the border but offering invaluable ground cover too.Originating from the Himalayas, Geranium himalayense ‘Birch Double’ is exceptionally hardy so needs no protection during winter when leaves will die back ready to repeat perform for years to come. Prefers moist well-drained soil in either full sun or part shade on any soil type.
