Description
- One of the best blossom displays of any variety – and that’s not all. Kanzan’s classical form and colours bring year-round interest to your garden
- Clusters of lush, double pink flowers cover the branches between March and May
- The foliage emerges bronzed in the spring, matures to a dark green and puts on a spectacular display in autumn, with leaves taking on a palette of warm oranges, fiery reds and golden yellows
- Growing to 8m but easily pruned to fit a smaller space, Kanzan is suitable for most average sized gardens and has a naturally vase-shaped form
- A hardy tree that will thrive in all but chalky soils – grow in a sunny sheltered spot for the best flowers
- Native to Japan, Kanzan was first bred in the Edo period (1603-1867) and named for the legendary Chinese poet and sage Hanshan (Kanzan-ji in Japanese)
- Winner of the RHS Award of Garden Merit
- Our potted trees are supplied in EcoPots™. Eco pots use 70% less plastic and are fully recyclable, unlike normal single-use pots. They flex and so produce less root spiralling and travel better in the post.MORE
- Our trees are usually between 18 and 36 months old at the time of dispatch.
- Our trees are professionally pruned before dispatching. This formative pruning can involve cutting the main leader if the expert tree growers decide this will produce a better-shaped tree. This can stop the tree from becoming “leggy”, and promote stronger, bushier growth.MORE
