- Royal Burgundy is a more compact sport (mutation) of a Kanzan cherry blossom with wine-dark purple leaves that emerge in spring with the flowers, which last for 5-10 days. These are double, rose coloured and ruffled, creating the effect of a fluffy pink canopy!
- You’ll get the best flowers by planting Royal Burgundy in full sun – we also recommend showing it off against a light coloured background
- In autumn the leaves turn to warm scarlet and orange tones and the shimmering copper coloured bark stands out in the winter landscape
- Suitable for small gardens, Royal Burgundy grows to a compact 5x4m within 20 years
- This undemanding tree is happy in any moist, well drained soil except for chalk
