Add an enchanting characteristic to the garden with these climbing Roses. Zephirine Drouhin is a vigorous climbing Rose which produces an abundance of light silver-pink buds which open out to large, cupped fragrant double flowers which deepen in colour with age. This is a thornless climbing rose, which flowers freely. Adorned with colourful blooms that can decorate the wall of a house or gracing a trellis, arch or pergola they also provide a sweet lingering perfume. Climbers will repeat flower, providing blooms in summer and again in autumn. Suited to many different styles of garden from the modern to more traditional cottage gardens, the climbing rose is versatile and can brighten up any space. Offering up to 20-30 years of colour and character. 2 year old bare rooted plants supplied. Please note: Fragrant rose’s perfume is usually the most potent on warm, sunny days, while sat in moist soil. Its important to imitate these conditions, as it will release the fragrant chemicals within the flowers. High humidity increases the longevity of the fragrance as it reduces the chance of the chemicals evaporating.

Growing at a glance…
Roses should be planted firmly, to ensure that wind will not disrupt the roots. Apply a balanced fertiliser every 3-4 weeks in the spring/summer, and apply a mulch in the winter for protection. Can be pruned back to remove any dead wood or growth. It is best to plant roses in winter or early spring, provided there is little frost. To prepare your bare rose roots, soak them in a bucket of water for an hour to 24 hours (longer in spring). Then, dig a hole large enough to house the roots when fully outspread. Distribute the roots evenly around the hole and put in a little bit of fine soil to which has been added a small amount of bonemeal. Fill in with the rest of the soil over the roots and tread in firmly. The depth of planting roses will vary between 10-20cm, or as deep as they were in their pots.
