Tell Me More…
Bred in Canada, Rubus idaeus ‘Tulameen’ is now one of the world’s most popular summer-fruiting varieties due to its tolerance of different climates, exceptionally high yields, spineless canes and sweet, flavoursome berries. Expect to be picking large quantities from August to September. The relatively compact size of ‘Tulameen’ makes it a great solution for smaller spaces, where it can either be grown in the ground supported by posts and wires, or in a large tub supported by bamboo canes. Pruning of summer raspberries is wonderfully straightforward; simply cut each cane down to the ground as soon as it has finished fruiting. For best results grow ‘Tulameen’ in moist, well-draining soil in full sun and a sheltered spot, though it will tolerate a range of soil types. Feed and mulch annually in spring. H: 2m S: 50cm. Hardy to -20°C.
