Tell Me More…
Nectar-rich, the ‘Super Scabious Duo’ will add an airy, naturalistic feel to your borders and containers. Smaller than others in the family, they form tidy, low mounds of ferny foliage. Perfect for wildlife gardens, each pincushion-like bloom sits atop a single stem, attracting passing pollinators, and is excellent for florists, making a long-lasting addition to arrangements. Flowering in abundance, just deadhead any spent blooms regularly for a constant stream of flowers. This collection comprises; ‘Butterfly Blue’ – a profusion of soft periwinkle blooms on wiry stems up to 40cm tall, erupt from the ferny foliage between June and September, and ‘Pink Mist’ – pale centred, deep pink from June through to October, height 45cm. The ‘Super Scabious Duo’ both have a hardiness rating of H4 (-10°C). Plant these hardy perennials in any well-drained soil except heavy clay, in a sunny location. Maturing in 2 -5 years, each plant will reach a spread of 40cm wide. Larger plants can be divided in spring.
