Large green leaves emerge in April and will last right through to November for impact in the borders or in a large container. For further intrigue and drama, unusual, red-tinted flower stalks emerge in July and open to reveal dome-shaped heads of richly hued, plum purple umbels which remain until September. The stature of Angelica gigas make it perfect as a statement plant or for the back of an herbaceous or mixed border. Flowers are a magnet for bees and other pollinators too. Angelica gigas prefers moist, well-drained soil in full sun to full shade so it easy going and adaptable enough to fit in almost anywhere providing the growing medium is right. A hardy, herbaceous biennial which dies back after flowering and setting seed. Reaches an eye catching 1.8m in height with a spread of 1.2m. Delivered from April as 9cm pots.
